Bancha Blood Sugar Balancer

This is a classic Macrobiotic tonic used to stabilize blood-sugar from too many sweets.  Very helpful to balance over-acidic conditions, fortify digestion and strengthen blood.  Umeboshi plum vinegar is prized for its balancing properties and shoyu for stimulating natural digestion.  Drink one cup in the morning or after eating too much sugar to relieve imbalance.

Bancha tea is a green tea, widely available in natural grocery stores.

Yields: 2 cups

INGREDIENTS:

1 bancha tea bag
2 cups boiled filtered or well water
2 teaspoons shoyu (soy sauce)
1 teaspoon umeboshi plum vinegar

PROCEDURE:

Bring water to a boil and turn of heat.
Cool for a moment and pour over tea.
Steep for 5 minutes.
Squeeze out tea bag.
Add shoyu and umeboshi plum vinegar.

SERVICE

Stir and drink hot.

LEFTOVER STORAGE

Store in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 3 days.
